Sand-Rich Application: Replacing a Gravel Roof
This before picture of a parking garage roof shows the existing gravel roof masking the on-going destruction beneath the surface. Except for the growth of vegetation, it appears to be a "healthy" rooftop. |
After removal of the gravel, the extent of the damage became apparent. The surface beneath the gravel was badly "alligatored", allowing water to seep through. |
From the underside of the roof, the extent of the water damage is quite obvious, revealing crumbling concrete and rusted infrastructure. |
The first step in the restoration process is to flash the entire perimeter of the roof and around any protrusions, with Seams PerfectTM. Then we fabric wrap the entire roof surface with our patented, seamless, multi layer system. |
The Sand-RichTM basecoat is then applied. The adhesive is applied, followed by the decorative sand layer. Sealant is the final step in the process. We now have a fully adhered, attractive solution, that encapsulates the entire roof surface. A failed, unusable surface becomes a beautiful outdoor patio for the residents to enjoy! |
